You are walking across a frozen lake. It's freezing outside. You're exhausted and you just want to go home. You are dressed head to toe in several layers of warm clothes, but you're still so cold. The people around you don't seem to feel it as much. They're wearing a light jacket and jeans, and that's enough for them. They're laughing and playing. You're just trying to get across the lake.
You're taking careful steps to try not to slip. Other people are running and skating. When they fall, they laugh and get back up. You are tired and cold. Your clothes are so thick, that if you slip and fall it will be hard to get back up. You struggle to keep your balance and find purchase on the ice.
You get to a part of the lake where the ice is thinner. You've seen many others cross without a problem. But several steps in, you realize that your clothes are making you too heavy. The ice begins to
